Hi guys and gals,

My Name is Ted and I'm from New Jersey in the USA. I started smoking CC about 17 years ago when I was in the middle east serving in the USMC. I was far from a connoisseur, just enjoyed having a few drinks and a cigar with my teammates after a long or several long days in the field. My favorite was Chohiba, specifically the siglo vi, I haven't smoked since leaving service in 2003 but on a recent trip to the Dominican Republic my wife suggested I have a few cigars. I picked up a few singles from the cigar shop at the resort, 85% sure they were authentic, at least the bands were real. Before we left my wife bought me two boxes; 1 siglo vi and 1 monte no. 2 they turned out to be fake so I was initially turned off to cigars again but my wife encouraged me to try some cigars that I could easily get in New Jersey. After smoking some non CC and buying a cheap humidor I couldn't get rid of the desire to fire up a siglo vi, so after some searching around I found this website. Hopefully, I can learn some things from you guys, maybe meet some guys from my area to share a smoke with.

Best,

Ted aka Fastkiller13

Welcome Ted,

To bad you had some fakes, hope you will find some nice real ones in the near future to get rid of the bad experiance!

@TommyLF Me too. At least she was smart enough to pay with a credit card, so the charges were reversed. Now if I can just talk her into another purchase...

I've seen the @name used on a bunch of posts is that the normal way to respond or does it serve another purpose? Hate to make an ass of myself from day one.

@TommyLF Awesome, you planning on retiring from service? You've got at least 12-13 years in I guess.

I'm in now 21y and still need to do 18, in my country it is diff then the US. Retirement used to be at 55, but went up to 60 and will keep going up.

Damn that sucks. In the US you'd be retired after 20 years.

I know, i know... It sucks, but at least we have our cuban cigars here available ;)

That eases the pain a lot...

I'm sure it does. The Netherlands is a great place, I've been there 3 or 4 times. I stayed about 10 days when your prince was getting married think it was 2002 time frame. I had a blast even though it was cold as hell.
