We are looking at combining a weeks fishing in Cartagaena Columbia (Bonefish) with the Habanos cigar festival end February 2006.

Has anyone been to Cartagena? Any recommendations, thoughts, endorsements or otherwise?

Thankyou for your valuable input Dragon.

....No, my understanding is that Cartagena is rich in Architecture and Bonefish. We will...as normal...fish during the day and tour the major religious architectural sites in the evening.

We will all be in bed by 9 pm.

Do I detect sarcasm??

Hey....you asked for input, you didn't necessarily specify it had to be valuable. Anyway, I still heard that place is a drug haven., not that I would know about that kind of stuff.

hey, i thought it was the cocaine capital of the world as well (but for all i know, dubbo could be). will schapelle be tour guide?

i believe that michael douglas did a doco years ago focusing on cartagena called 'romancing the stone', or something like that. i don't remember any bonefish.

I think the kidnappings are probably worse than the cocaine trafficking. Just don't bring anybody with you worth paying ransom on and you'll have no worries. :-P

i have a friend in bogata he says the rivers in columbia are awesome,

great swimming and fishing.

he has invited me and since he worked and lived here for many yr.s sending his money home he is now quite weaalthy for the average colombian...unfortunataly even the police will rob you there...and so i am quite scared to visit although would love too see him and fish with him in one of these awesome rivers.

OK...Cartagena is now off the agenda due to member informed issues of Cocaine trafficking, Kidnapping and...fornicating fish :surprised:

We will slum it in Las Salinas for the week prior just as we did last year. :-)

My Mum went to Cartegena once.

Havn't seen here since.

The cabin boy on the last flight from Dubbo launches the duff beer (NOT Fosters) out the door in-flight onto unsuspecting glimpers on the beach.

I'd watch out for that if I were you Ken.
