wondering if anyone has tried this. just got a bottle duty free. the bloke there was kind enough to crack one to show me - plenty of peat and a wonderfully smooth whisky but to be honest, at 6am, not sure the t-buds were in the right shape to assess whisky.

love to hear any thoughts.

Ken is that the 8 year?

 

If so that is amazing stuff.  It reminds me a lot of the 12 year old but without the fierceness.  Plenty of peat and complex.  I bought 3 more bottles after opening my first one,

There is a distillery bottling of Laphroaig 12? Is it new, or very, very old?

ta guys. new release, i believe. just called "the legacy edition", "The 1815". i'm thinking it might be a travel/duty free bottling only. will let you know thoughts when i try it.
