Ken Gargett Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 i see the celtics have first pick in the draw. a lottery? i thought they made the playoffs this year? how does that work? any info appreciated.
ShortFatHokie Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Received the pick through a trade at some point??? I'm not sure otherwise...
jschrader510 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 The Celtics traded Pierce, Garnett and two other guys to the Nets in 2013. They got players, the 2014, 2016 and 2018 first round pick and also the right to swap first rounders in 2017. 1
cigarsandcoffee Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 It's also based on a variety of percentages, and for Boston the following were applicable regarding the chances of each pick:1st: 25 percent2nd: 21.5 percent3rd: 17.8 percent4th: 35.7 percentSent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Ken Gargett Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 this helps somewhat so thanks to all. i saw they got it in lottery and now i see why they are in that lottery. so that makes sense. nice for them!
Guest Nekhyludov Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Here's a nice summary ... http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19399475/boston-celtics-earn-no-1-pick-nba-draft-followed-los-angeles-lakers-philadelphia-76ers
wabashcr Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 They'll be one of the best teams in the league again next year, and will get Brooklyn's pick again, which will probably be in the top 3 again. They really fleeced the Nets in that trade, which has to go down as one of the worst in the history of American professional sport.
