Feb travels - Washington state, Honolulu and Tokyo!

Recommended Posts

Time for ol' Chanceschmerr to hit the road for work again. Putting the word out in case anyone is in the area and is keen to meet up for a smoke and/or whisky!

Monday-Wednesday Feb 6-8 - I'm in Port Townsend, Washington state, for a software course.  From what I can tell, there's no cigar shop or smoking lounge in the area, but if anyone's local to that area, by all means let me know if you're keen to meet up on one of the evenings.

Friday February 10th - Enroute to Japan, I have an 18 hr layover in Honolulu.  I'll be landing early afternoon on Friday, and aside from a stop to the local NEX and to Tamura's to check out scotch selections (and the brilliant Poke at Tamura's), I'm free that afternoon/evening for a smoke if anyone else is in area!

Monday Feb 13th - Sunday Feb 19th - I'll be south of Tokyo, in Yokosuka, for a series of work meetings from Monday to Friday, so I might be able to head up to Tokyo for one of the evenings for a dinner/smoke.  On Saturday and Sunday, 18th-19th Feb, I'm on my own and free to meet if anyone wants to meet - I'd love some good food/smoke recommendations for Tokyo!  My only tentative plans for the weekend right now are to visit Hakushu distillery and hopefully Chichibu distillery (if I can arrange it).  Looks like trains can take me to both places from Tokyo, so I'll probably aim to do those in the mornings of Saturday and Sunday, and I fly home to Canada from Haneda in the evening on Sunday.

If anyone's keen to meet or has any recommendations, by all means please let me know!

Cheers mates!

Don't think I'll be free that evening, but if you are scotch hunting at Tamura's, it behooves you to also swing by Fujioka's Wine Times at the nearby Market City Shopping Center. They tend to carry more of the harder to find whiskeys, with prices that are usually comparable to Tamura's.  Staff is a little more knowledgeable as well, though I have nothing but nice things to say about either store.

Thanks mate - I'll check out Fujioka's as well.

If you do come free that evening, let me know!
