Interesting Fake Behike 56 Leather Humidor

So a friend (more of an acquaintance) got these from a "reputable" source.  He's the type of gent who is is an "expert" in all things. He said his source got them at an auction. 

After letting me have this specimen for a day I broke the bad news to him. I do NOT call myself an expert, but these I have never seen before, and below is what the verification came back as....

The product is original from Habanos S.A.

Construction was a mess as well and label head outline not like any of my 52 and 54's I have from my lacquered 10 ct boxes.

I have seen this exact item in the fake market in the bottom of the Science and Technology Museum in Shanghai.  I am not sure about whether there were cigars or seals involved with the items I saw, but the humidor "jar" is sort of hard to forget.

Agreed on the leather jar.  It really is a cool jar and quite decorative. I think the only real item that looked sorta real was the front jar label. Some work went into making this.

These can be had all day on Aliexpress as well as ceramic jars.  Just do a search for cigar jar and you will find them.  I have seen these on Ebay as well.  Most say they were made for the Spanish market and hard to come by but they seem to have an endless source. Here is a link, hope it works:
