bigbanana14 Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 First stick out of a new box of 24 for me. Thought of letting it age for a while before starting on the box but couldn't resist trying out a stck first. Construction of the cigar is lovely and I've always liked the pigtails on the Trinidads. Just a very well made cigar. Pre-light draw was perfect with just the right amount of resistance. Started out creamy and with tastes of honey and tea. Slowly progressed to a woody flavour accompanied with spicy notes. Got a bit rough towards the end and I put the stick away shortly into the last third. Excellent smoke production throughout. A different, but still pleasant (at least for the first 2/3), experience from my previous box of Reyes from 2011. Probably smoked this too young. Will be putting the box away and smoking a stick every 6 months. Should be interesting to see how these develop. 1
Smoke6 Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Nice review and pics! Yes, time rewards those who have patience with these. Look forward to hearing how these develop.
TheMonk Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Nice review, on one of my favorite short smokes!
JG3 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Nicely done! I also enjoy taking a cigar I am fond of and seeing, smelling and tasting it's evolution. I found this marca to be consistent in that they are extremely well made (I too enjoy a little "pull" on the draw) and while enjoyable young for about half to 2/3 of the cigar, the flavor profile to me was a bit linear and straightforward but when given time to rest and mature significant complexities show up during my smoking experience. Please do post a follow up when you try it again. JG3
