SinfullyPatient Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 I've been meaning to get a tube of 60% humidity beads from Heartfelt for my "dry box" and I just realized they are nowhere to be found on their site anymore. Does anyone know where I can find them?
BarryNY Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 not sure about Heartfelt availability - but as alternative Boveda packs has a 58% or 62% and should work for your application perfectly! mix the 58 and the 62 and get an average 60% LOL........... 1
PigFish Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 ... there is no such thing as a 60rH bead my friend. Do you have other beaded desiccants? If yes, dry some out and make them 60rH beads yourself. -Piggy

I'm pretty sure they used to carry them and if you google it the links and descriptions are still there but the product is gone. Either way, how many would you say to dry out? 50%? I accidentally bought 2 lbs of 65% for my wines for and I only needed 1. I can't get heartfelt to answer my calls or emails, so they're just sitting in the box unused. For a medium sized humidor what would you put them in? I don't want them to take up too much space. thanks for the help.
PigFish Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 I don't support HF products my friend, but I do support the community. Bake some in an oven 200F and remove as much water as you want! I posted a process here not long ago and you can search my posts for the suggested process. Search Pigfish + mason + jar and you will likely find it. You misunderstood me. I am not saying that a company did not sell something that they called 60rH beads, I said that beaded silica desiccant is not programmed, it is simply charged with water. It is not special, there is no difference between the 65 bead and the 60 beyond the water content. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Just bake some of the excess beads that you currently have. Cheers! -Piggy 1
