I'm back to Cuba in September for my 50th birthday and I'd like to visit a few places under my own steam rather than a tour from one of the travel companies.

so I've have the location details for the Robbins farm and wondered if you have to pre book or can you just turn up and visit.

id also like to take our friends on a factory tour so what's the best one to visit and are these just turn up and pay a fee or do they also need pre booking ?

thanks

i'd try for el laguito for a factory but long time since i did one so not sure which is most impressive now.

as for the farm, i assume you mean that of don A robaina? we'd arranged an invitation through mutual friends. things might have changed now but back then, it was like anyone's personal home. it wasn't open to the public. might be now. i imagine one can google those things?

i'm sure others might have more up to date info.

Cuban Factories are a little difficult to get into these days without a contact. However a mate of mine just got back last week and got into La Corona without any problem. Two parts smile, three parts bravado, one part persistence should see it done.

You can rock up to Prieto's finca without any drama. They like you to spend money over their bar and pick up a few customs.

You can also book there to stay overnight.
