I want a good quality soft flame thats not 600+ dollars.

I've heard / read very good things about IM Corona lighters - came close myself, but needed a torch.

Stunning Lighter!

When you were asking about gifts some months back, these were what came to mind for me.

Not sure if it's possible but a inexpensive lighter, pocket sized that could change from soft flame to torch as needed.

I have one - Colibri hybrid. Flint ignition - initial light is soft flame with a button to go torch. Good overall, but fuel capacity is an issue for me. Also, the fact that it starts as a soft flame can be a burden outside, and the torch is definitely not as powerful as, let's say. a Blazer. I know I've read of another, but I can't recollect the brand.

Maybe it's just me but I just tossed my vector thunderbird insert. Couldn't get the dang thing to light.

That's a shame - I've had mine for nearly two years and it's been my most reliable torch to date. If it had Blazer fuel capacity, it'd be perfect.....
