kuma Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 People seem to forget that this guy was a very very large man. Six foot four and two hundred and twenty five pounds of lean / mean muscle with power to boot. A gift from the gods. Quick as a cat in speed of punches and blessed fast foot work. His arm length was more than 29" inches (over 2' 1/2"). He was as tall as George Forman. And what makes this guy really stand out was his chin he could take a pounding and he was smart. Once in a life time men like this come along. Yes the "Greatest" indeed!
IPORTER Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Sad to hear and still young........fantastic street fighter.
kuma Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 Even though I have no proof I don't think he used roids. To Skinny during his younger years and at the height of his career he was a strict muslim so that rules out drinking and drugs. And no he was not a street fighter he trained in the classic boxing sense in his early training days. Over the years he delevoped his own style boxing charater as we all do in are own work and life. He took advantage of his god given talents and made the most of them but at a price. Many shots to the head over many years took its toll. Pound for pound the best fighter ever!
semifan1 Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Here is a passage from the article. "The report stated that Ferguson, 42, had no history of illicit drug use and foul play was not suspected in his death. Ferguson did test positive for steroids after his fight with Dhafir "Dada 5000" Harris at Bellator 149 in February". http://www.mmafighting.com/2016/6/7/11880288/report-kimbo-slice-was-told-he-needed-heart-transplant-before-death Regardless still sucks for the guy.
DoubleDD Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 It's sad when anyone passes. With that said, was never a fan nor did I look to him as a role model.
