Headed to China this week. Anybody ever hit up the LCDH thats in Macau? I heard of the Pacific Cigar shops but debating which I should be hitting up. Probably only have time for one of the locations so wanted to make it worthwhile. Thanks

I haven't hit any LCDH there but in the Venetian Casino area they have the Irish pub that sells a few sticks (the guy who owns it is a hard core, very wealthy collector from what the staff tells me) and in the casino itself has a shop. It was a few years ago but I believe it was a Davidoff shop with Cubans as well.

Macau is a decent place to be a smoker. The laws have tightened since 2012. Before that you could smoke anywhere! Now only in certain areas but overall still decent. The Irish pub McSorely's is a great hangout if you are in the Taipa area. Great food, beer and smoker friendly.

From memory there are cigar shops in the Wynn, Venetian and sands cotai central. They are all quite expensive for loose sticks.

There used to be plenty of places that sold loose sticks, but that had changed since Macau cracked down on indoor smoking. Previously you could smoke anywhere, now there is no smoking indoor including on casino floors.

There is also a free standing shop just near the grand lisboa on Rua de pequim. This used to be the best place to buy in Macau (the whole place is duty free) especially for box purchases. It used to be a lcdh or a licensed pacific cigar outlet, but not so sure these days.

As for smoking joints, I would highly recommend the outdoor section of the cinibar at wynn, the rooftop bar at Altria or fernendos restaurant in coloane (fantastic Macanese food).

Unfortunately all the great places such as mcsorelys ale house, the view at sands, whisky bar at Galaxy etc all no longer allow smoking indoor.

A lot changes in a year or 2. It was only a couple years ago where the laws were more strict but still decent. McSorely's had a smoking section instead of the whole bar being a free for all. Bummer. I used to really enjoy going there for a guy's weekend (a short trip from Singapore). The restrictions will put a damper on those plans.
