Popular Post NapaNolan Posted January 16, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 16, 2016 Bought this from the Czar ~10 years ago as my first Cuban order. The first box got 'lost' in the mail so a replacement was quickly dispatched. I've been eyeing this one forever. A legendary name and a pretty good sized cigar. I can't get over the construction on this guy. The wrapper is so silky smooth. Not terribly oily but so supple. A quick snip of the cap shows a beautiful divot. Pre-light draw is just perfect. Toasted the foot and here we go. I toasted the foot a little unevenly but it corrected itself very quickly. Tells me 1) it's an expertly built cigar, 2) my humidor is right where I want if. I've always wanted to avoid the Cohiba hype but so far this smoke has me rethinking. First 1/3: I just love the 'oh yeah, this is Cuban' moment. Loads of hay and grass with hints of cafe au lait and cinnamon. A bit of a vegetal/herbal note from the smoke off of the foot, fresh cut green grass maybe. Draw is absolutely spot on. Lots of smoke but doesn't feel like it's burning hot. Second 1/3: Picking up some intensity with more aggressive pepper and spice notes. Not overly aggressive but more so than the first third. Still burning and drawing wonderfully. Final 1/3: One small touch up required as I entered this last third but I had slowed my pace quite a bit. Clouds have overtaken the sky and it's likely to start drizzling any minute. I opted to smoke on my uncovered back patio rather than pay a $10 cut fee and drink a $6 beer at the local lounge. The pepper and spice notes have intensified further and are starting to tickle my sinuses. I also get a salty/beach-breeze sort of thing which is pretty interesting. Of course just as I finish it starts to sprinkle. At about 1/2" it gets a little hot and bitter so I tossed it. Overall a top notch cigar and a size I wouldn't buy today but I'm glad The Pres had this theme today. I don't know when I would have smoked this otherwise. Definitely gives truth to the idea that 'the perfect cigar is the one I'm smoking right now.' I don't believe in assigning scores to wine, beer or spirits and I won't start with cigars but this is in the upper echelon of anything I've had. 5

brentp Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Great review. Sig 6 is my absolute favorite regular production cigar. I too get the salty pepper mix that just suits my tastes perfectly Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
