RickHendeson
Well Rob asked for current faves and this is a current fave -- unfortunately. Plowing through this box WAY faster than I would have liked. Construction is firm to solid. Wrapper is Colorado Maduro to my personal scale. Oily, but not extremely so. Pre-Light Draw: Is fine. Thick molasses with a bit of twang. First Third: No twang is evident despite pre-light draw. Some floral notes appear, I have been getting that off of this box. Some people hate it, but I don't mind it, at times I enjoy it. There is a distinct leathery undertone, but the molasses flavor predominates. I say "molasses" but it's not a sweet molasses. Burn line is even. Second Third: Molasses flavor has backed off some. Leather remains, with some tobacco thrown in. I do get some twangy notes here and there. Burn line has come and gone. I really don't care about that like some people do, however. Final Third: Things have taken an interesting turn. Tannin flavors are more pronounced (I purged right after the 2nd third), but a syrupy kind of flavor has come back, and this time it IS kind of sweet to the palate. Weirdly, on some draws I get a distinctly different profile, more of a woody/herby kind of affair. The tannins are not present on these draws. Burn line remains inconsistent but again I don't care personally. Only one cigar out of this box has let me down yet.
