CDevil Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Today, I have been lurking deep within the factory with Israel. Israel has been in the cigar business for forty-five years with the Plascencias and counting. He is a true enciclopedia of tobacco. I have never met a man with the experience that he has. His ability to create blends, savor tobacco, and predict the outcome of the blends is amazing. Today he was talking to me about the importance of the 'seasoning' of tobacco with the fermentation process. Fermenting and curating the tobacco so it will attain its flavor, strength, and aroma. Tobacco is usually fermented in large piles and covered up for around 8- 14 months and is checked daily. This process releases all the chemicals in the tobacco leaves that come from the Hacienda such as boron, calcium, ammonia.. etc. Together we created this new blend which my oh my was strong! The world of tobacco is deep and ancient as the Mayans themselves. Let's see what wonders we may uncover in this journey! Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk 2
leftimatic Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I must say that is pretty cool. Nothing better in any field of work than to work with a master. Sounds very interesting. But ummm....How about a lighter blend for us guys that do not go for that stronger than life stuff. Maybe in a corona/ corona gorda? Just wondering. 1

There are definitely lighter blends around in the factory that are being produced. For example the Edge Candela is a very rich and mild to medium smoke. I do recommend it. It's quite exotic with its natural emerald hue. Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk 1
