I'm thinking it's a replica "butt" they stick that in, and then it's just routinely sanitized as is a toothbrush or plasticware that's available for first use. I'm just not buying that somewhere there's someone (some persons) sticking glass 'mometers up their anus and then cleaning them....ewww! covermouth.gif

Considering the number of thermometers made, I would think it too inefficient for a person to stick one up their clacker to test.

I'd imagine it's more industrialised, with a wall of exposed butts, a conveyor belt of thermometers, and a row of workers inserting to test. lookaround.gif
