Great review. Bought a box of 24 PSP Coloniales from host. They are 2014 smokes but

they are really very mild for a young cigar. Along with the Picadores that I also bought I

can not keep my hands off them.

Thanks for the great review! Can you expound why the Trinidad Coloniales is one of your favourite sticks? The answer could be, 'just because' but I am curious as I've not sampled a Trinidad cigar before (although I'm resting a Trinidad Reyes stick in my humidor for later in the year).

I'm an admitted fan of the Trinidad marca in general so it starts there but then the vitola is just right most of the time, I would love to just be smoking Fundadores all the time but sometimes it just doesn't fit into the schedule and I love Reyes as well but often you're left wanting more so the Coloniales size is that nice 1:15 smoke.

Then I would say it's the complexity, I like when a cigar has a flavour you can count on but still surprises you with something different. A good example is with this '14 stick. I'm used to most of the flavours I was getting but the grassy notes I got off the start were not very common for me with this smoke.

I'm generally a cigar smoker who likes different cigars all the time, never the same one two days in a row kind of thing. So, to be able to get subtle differences but from a stick you like the overall profile of is what makes me reach for a cigar more often then others.

I would recommend them for sure, I would always say the drawback is as oliverdst mentioned below, at a time when a whole lot of great cigars from '13 and '14 are smoking extremely well very young I think you will still find yourself needing to put these down for an extended amount of time to really fully enjoy them.

My Coloniales hit the peak with 6 years old.

Just finished one from APU JUL15. First one out of the box and I was really impressed with this little smoke. The first third took a bit to pop, but it really shinned in the back half. Lots of salted caramel and just a wonderful aftertaste. I haven't had them aged so I have no reference point, but damn this one was good.
