I did the same with my boy with cricket for 10 years (8 of these I was the coach) and the memories and discussions we still have....priceless! And it's never a waste, my son has taken some time off from weekend sport for his HSC studies for Year 11 and 12, but he still prides himself on the fact that he is good enough to represent his school for cricket and baseball.
