Hi guys, I'm still fairly new around here and have been loving the big hearts / generosity seen nearly every day on what is surely a gentlemens forum.

But as I nub this sublime 08 Boli gold medal, which has improved markedly since resting in my humi, I wondered about the $1 going to the Nicaraguan children's feeding mission and how or if we could all do more to help?

Mus seems to be leading the way of late with his last two endeavours but I was curious if people are still contributing to this worthy cause?

Those of us who can afford and appreciate an expensive hobby such as this (read lifestyle) , know how lucky we are to be able to take time everyday to relax and ponder on the larger issues either in good company or by oneself. Usually with a nice glass of whatever we choose, instead of worrying about the rent or overdue bills etc.

These children and I would assume a lot of cuban children could benefit greatly from such a benevolent group as this.

Any ideas on how or if we could help?

With an eleven thousand strong membership we could make a difference. Is it as simple as just donating to El Pres?

Edit: only posted here because the forum related to this seems to get little to no attention.

Good for you! Proving once again that tobacco was a gift to the human race, given a long time ago by a goddess, to help us honor our Gods and enhance our hearts.

I think Fuzz' idea is a good one, unless you want to start researching NGOs (to ensure that you're not donating to ones that exist for profit or the advancement of certain political agendas).

Thanks for the replies gents.

I live in Oz so import most of my cigars to avoid regional pricing exploits and run the gauntlet re the heavy duty taxes here.

This means the children aren't getting the $1 from any of these purchases and therein lies the problem.

Probably easiest to use fuzz's system for now. Fairly certain we all know the pres wil make sure it goes where it's needed.

Is the Nicaraguan feeding mission still active? I looked at the forum and it doesn't seem like there are yearly updates or anything like that. I think it would be fantastic if the running total donated were made available for everyone to see. And then a yearly update on where the money went and how it was spent.

I think it would be great if Rob introduced a donor system to the site. Donate $10 and get a bronze donor badge next to your username, $25 for silver and $50 for gold. With all funds going to the mission of course. Most forum software has this membership function built in anyway I believe.

Externally to this site, look up NGOs both in Australia and in these countries you want to help and read what they are up to. If you support what they are doing then donate to them directly.
