Partagas Short MUR JUN 13 Review

For this review I pulled a Party short out of a 25 ct. dress box. Figured this would be a good time for a quick smoke and review, as my better half was shampooing the carpets and I was kicked out to the garage with the dogs.

I notice the wrapper has an amazing aroma to it, that seems almost floral, while the foot is a bit more woody in scent. I use a small punch on the cap, and the cold draw seems a bit loose. At least it's not plugged.

The first third is quite "mongrel" and is very full bodied with lots of spice. Although the draw is a tad on the loose side, and the cigar is burning quickly, the construction seems great as the burn line is even, and the cigar is burning cool. The ash hangs on for the whole third.

In the second third, the mongrel spices are still prevalent, but there is a subtle earthiness trying to poke through.

The final third is still full of spices, with a little earth, and that sweet floral note I detected on the wrapper has made its way (ever so slightly) into the profile. There seems to be just the right amount of nicotine to this cigar, as I am starting to feel it right when I go to lay it down.

Overall, a great cigar with some potential to get even better as the years go on. Not complex, but delicious nonetheless.

The first third was a little "rough" but not bitter. Just really full and spicy. I don't know how some people smoke these for breakfast. The final third was amazing. I think some time may round out the cigar a bit.

I had a 9 yr old party short that was just amazing. After that stick, I bought a 50 cab and haven't touched any of them. Such a great cigar.

Great review. I have a couple of boxes from May 13 and am interested to see what they do over time as well. Quite enjoyable at the moment, hopefully they get better.
