Looking forward to a great day of baseball, I decided to get out of my morning Encantos rut and start the day with something a little bigger. Upmann used to be one of my favorite brands but for me it has changed the most from years ago. It used to be powerfull earthy tobacco that tasted like walking thru a forest after a rain, it was a cigar transporter experience. Not that I don't like shortbread cookies, but I'd rather walk thru a fresh forest.

Then Rob sends out these in a blind tasting and I got as good a cigar as I could ever want. I know a lot of people had draw issues but mine was vanilla cream nirvana. One of those cigars that I'd be happy just smoking them for the rest of my life. So the ordering began.......

I've smoked many out of this box, while none of them have been stunning from the beginning, many have hit the vanilla cream zone right at halfway.

This one started off just fine, creamy with pure tobacco yummness.......as Rob says "class". The first half of the cigar seems to just float by, so good, but I'm waiting for the vanilla bean leap to warp drive. Right at the halfway point the draw tightens up, smoke production drops and I have to work harder than I like to keep it going. I powered thru an inch of tuff smoking, then the draw opened back up. So instead of making the leap to hyperspace, this one blew an oil line.

Still a nice smoke, but I'd like to have a word with the roller!
