Iroda Refills: Ditch the Wheel

Do you guys pull the flint wheel out of the disposable refills that you put into your Iroda micro jet lighters? I've just been putting in the whole disposable, but the jet flame wasn't all that impressive, no matter how much I turned up the flame.

Since the supplied refill with the lighter had no flint wheel, I experimented with taking the wheel off a disposable and putting it in and man it's like a whole new lighter! Much nicer flame, bigger, stronger and more wind proof.

None of the Iroda instructions mention doing this, but it really seems to help the lighter's performance.

Yes, it's been like that for a while. I believe either the online instructions or the packaging itself shows / mentions that. Aside from the instructions, being that the fluid unit that comes with it is missing the flint wheel, everyone I now of using these were aware of this.

Also, Iroda does sell a "refill" kit, containing two more of the refillable reservoirs, for about $3 or so. Damn good spares to have for long trips - makes it nice to refill with your own quality butane too.
