Does anyone use a battery backup for their wineador? I've had my power go out just for a minute or so and my wine fridge temp resets itself to 55 deg F. I've caught it early both times but I'm concerned about the few times I am away for a number of days or weeks.

Sure do! I use a APC BX1500G on my wineador. We seem to lose power at our house fairly regularly and the battery backup keeps the thermostat from resetting to 55 degrees. I figure this unit will give me 4-6 hours standby power. I have a NewAir 280. Hope this helps.

I've had my wineador reset to 55 a few times due to power outage and have had the same concerns. I never thought about getting a battery back-up though. That's a great idea!

I've never thought of this, I'm glad I read this post... I have a 6 foot cabinet humidor with a electronic humidifier in it. Every time the power goes out, it resets it's self to 50% RH..... I guess if I'm not opening the door the humidity wont drop that quickly, but it probably would be a good idea to have a backup, just in case!

My controllers have nonvolatile memory.

Power goes out, all programs and settings are saved and I have never had a problem. There is a huge difference in true commercial controls (PLC's) and a lot of the cheap stuff that is out there.
