El Presidente Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I am not sure which one is my favourite! http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/more-sports/the-worst-ever-performanceenhancing-drugs-excuses-in-history/story-fni2frsp-1227033513040
Ken Gargett Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 my unborn twin? merely thinking of that one should have got him off. i always felt sorry for warnie - just trying to lose a bit of weight. that said, we are the most total hypocrites on the planet when it come to drugs. we are so quick to point to others and then claim ours must have been accidental or set ups. anyone remember the way the female chinese swimmers were ridiculed (possibly for good reason) yet we would not believe any of ours would do it. had some friends who have been olympians and i naively mentioned to one of them once that surely not our top swimmers. in fairness, he never actually said our blokes were drug cheats - he couldn't stop laughing long enough to say anything. another was telling me about a female aussie athlete - who always looked like she was full of drugs. he'd been in the dressing room while she was publicly injecting without a care in the world. as bad as that is, i've since heard her bleating on tv about being robbed by drug cheats and how unfair it all is - perhaps other countries have better drugs than us? as for cronulla, what a farce. shows what chocolate teapots our drug police are. admitted drug cheats will get banned three weeks in the off season. freddie fitler might be a dill most of the time but he went way up in my estimation when he asked that the drug cheat paul gallen not be awarded the medal struck in freddie's name. so we now have one of aussie sport's great streaks broken by cheats. and they are celebrated. total farce and a stain on sport and on this country.
rhcolbert Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 These are classic. I agree with Ken's post; easy to point the finger. I'll be the first to admit that the thought of using steroids briefly to get over a plateau in training or hgh to speed recovery have crossed my mind. Since I can't just go get at the cvs I've resisted those urges. No time for cheating!!
... Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 No competitive sport without enhancing drugs. Period. Think of any sport. The rare genetically gifted individual might not be a regular user. The only thing I see being wrong in it is the public being in full denial, wanting people to break world records and out perform each others while at the same time requiring these athletes be moral examples and clean... As with pixie dust/plume, people want to believe magic exists 1
shlomo Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 With hundreds of millions of dollars at stake, I would juice as well and hope not to get caught.
