Habana Mike Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 This one's been calling out to me from the vintage section of my singles drawer for quite a while. Time to put it to flame! Milk chocolate wrapper, silky and oily with slight veins. Medium box press, a little springiness but no hard or soft spots. A very well built and kept cigar. Punch reveals a resistant but workable draw. Notes of leather, barnyard, dark chocolate prelight. Stuck a match and lit easily. Good smoke volume Medium full out of the gate - leather, earth, toasted tobacco and chocolate. Middle third expresses more leather, cocoa. It's a fairly dry smoke with a medium finish, mild on the retrohale. Strength and flavors really pick up in the last third showing a bit of the character this smoke had back in '95 Wood, leather, spice, earth and dark chocolate are all coming through with a long finish. After 2 hours and 20 miuntes I had to put the nub down. Shame it ended, Bolivar needs a regular production Prominente! 96/100 3
Habana Mike Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 You can still get Boli Corona Gigantes... True, they're the Churchill. I was suggesting a Double Corona.
