TypicalSituation Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I consider this art, so hence why I posted here. If this should be moved, please do so! I'm looking to try a fountain pen or 2, and was wondering if anyone has some recommendations for beginners. Looking to spend under 100 bucks.
NSXCIGAR Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Stumbled on this thread...don't ask! I highly recommend Waterman fountain pens. I've had both a Laureat and an Expert and found them both excellent instruments. The Expert should be in the $100 range and the Laureat in the $70 range.
James4226c Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 IMO The best nibs/writing experience for pens under $100 are mostly from Japan (Sailor, platinum, pilot) mid range lines not their budget $20-30 pens. Only other pens I can think of in that price range that I have personal experience with is the Lamy safari/all star made in Germany, not the "traditional" looking fountain pen but construction engineering and parts all top notch.
