Ken Gargett Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 not sure if any aussies saw 'head first' last week - it is being repeated on monday night at 9.30 on ABC2 if you missed it and if you can't see it this time, tape it. brilliant stuff. about an aussie special forces soldier called damien mander. now lives in zimbabwe with a small band running an anti-poaching group (http://www.iapf.org/en/) to protect some of the last black rhinos - they have just 7 left under this group. it is seriously scary and dangerous work. they have a few rifles up against AK47's and determined poaching groups. in my book, he is an absolute hero. i would have zero problems if they shot every single poacher. and should i ever win gold lotto, then this bloke gets a large chunk. if you get a chance, watch the show. 2
SMQQKIN Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Love stories like this. Be passionate & stand up for something you believe in. The REALLY bad guys only respect those that are willing to whip their ass at all cost.
kwsaw63 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 ...about time they went after the conumers as well. Anyone found in possesion of Rhino horn, etc. should get the same treatment as a drug dealer. 1

Coolio Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I saw the show Ken and I agree it was brilliant. Although....... I was wondering if some of it was a little staged? Mainly the 'conservation rambo' bit. Which was closely followed by a shot of him and his sleeping baby. That part aside, the show really opened my eyes and I even developed a bit of a man crush.

Trimming Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Nice to have a passion and have a purpose that matters.
