MIKA27 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 The New Hobbit Movie Teaser Trailer Looks Freaking Amazing Behold the first trailer for the Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, the last of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy films. It promises to be a great ending to the epic tale of Bilbo Baggins. I can’t wait for that epic battle scene at the end. I remember having goosebumps the first time I read it. And the Smaug’s attack… oh boy. Here’s the official synopsis: “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo’s frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance. 1
Fuzz AI Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Seriously, I just don't get how you can turn this book into a trilogy. It's not like it is a long book. Haven't seen the first two films yet, as I want to watch the whole thing at once.

Frodo and Sam need to get a room.
Fuzz AI Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Frodo? What the hell is he doing in The Hobbit? Please don't tell me that they are bringing in characters from LOTR into The Hobbit just for the sake of tying in the previous trilogy?

Technically Frodo was at the very beginning of the first hobbit flick if you blink, you will miss him.

According to my Missus (and Tolkien tragic), 90% of the 2nd Hobbit film did not apear in the book Also, Legolas (Orlando Bloom) who was not featured in the book seems to be a pivotal character in the films. When I heard a book ,that was shorter in length than 'The Fellowship Of The Ring", was going to be converted into a 9hr film, I pretty much figured the films were gonna have a lot of 'new material' rather than trying to keep it true to the source. I've spoken to various people about this, the people who love the book, HATE the film (most of the loved LOTR films though). The people who never read the book seem to enjoy the films. That seems to be the case with mose book to film transitions, so take from that what you wil. Personally, the cynic in me sees the Hobbit films as a way to milk another billion dollars from an already extremely profitable franchise. Why release one film that will make $300 million when you can make 3 films that return $900 million? 1
Fuzz AI Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Legoham is in this one too? That's it! I'm outta here! I'm gonna go read National Lampoon's "Bored of the Rings"...
Grahamsant Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I'm really looking forward to it! Once it's on dvd that will be one hell of a marathon to watch them all!!!
