Making your own humidor

Is it possible to make your own humidor by sealing up any cabinet, lining with Spanish cedar, and adding some beads? Any real detriment/disadvantages to this compared to commercially available cabinet humis?

Thanks in advance!

Before this travels to that section...

My concern would be exposure to any lacquer the furniture might have... And any internal glues that it might have...

If that isn't an issue, seems possible to me

Even with the Spanish cedar lining this would be a concern?

Certainly not someone who would know for sure, but my first move would be to make sure that the insides of your furniture are sanded and cleaned. Spanish cedar would be great, but I certainly don't want to run the risk of messing up hundreds worth of great smokes.

All this being said, I really want to know how this progresses for you
