MIKA27 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 See the First Trailer for the New Batman Show Gotham Batman is about to begin again. Last night during 24: Die Another Day Fox premiered the first trailer for Gotham, the new show (officially ordered to series yesterday) that focuses on the early career of James Gordon, the man who’ll one day become commissioner of Gotham City and Batman’s trusted confidant in the ongoing fight against evil. Southland‘s Ben McKenzie takes the role of Gordon in the series, with Terriers veteran Donal Logue playing fellow cop Harvey Bullock. As you can see from the trailer, the series will feature younger incarnations of familiar Batman villains—including Catwoman, the Riddler, and the Penguin—as well as a particularly young Bruce Wayne, as played by Touch‘s David Mazouz. The trailer promises “the origins of the infamous city,” but whether or not the series turns out to be more Smallville than Arrow—or, worst-case scenario, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.—remains to be seen. Gotham will launch this fall on Fox. MIKA: I'm one of the biggest Batman fans around, will look forward to watching this one. A prequel could be good. Hope it's not corny like Agents of SHIELD.
Skyfall Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Yeah, I echo that I hope it's not corny or too modernly pandering!
WilkINStheWEST Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Looks interesting enough. As a fan of the Bat, I'll absolutely watch it. Not so sure how I feel about Catwoman in this show. I always pictured Selina and Bruce to be of a similar age. In this it looks like she would be as old as Jim Gordan. Anyone listen to Kevin Smith's Podcast, called Fatman on Batman? Go to iTunes and check out episode 51 and 52 with Paul Dini. They start snowballing this idea for a prequel Batman show that sounds epic and I would absolutely watch. More of a Smallville like show, focused on the teenage years of Bruce Wayne. They also came up with their prequel idea just before this show was announced. 1
Philprop Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Looks like it would be better suited for a movie than a show.

Love the podcast and those 2 eps were awesome I like that the trailer is focussing on 2 of the more neglected characters in the batman universe of late (Ridler and Penguin) 2
