IcedCanuck Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 The company I work for might be sending me to New Jersey sometime next week to provide assistance to a customer. It's not for sure yet but it is looking fairly likely. Would any fellow BOTLs/SOTLs know of any cigar friendly locations in the area while I am down there? Are there any cigar lounges?
Bclass1 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 There are a few, but it will depend on the county... Let me know and I'm sure I can be of some assistance
poisonowns Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Walk the streets of Camden. Nobody will say anything about your herfing. Just be sure to bring a weapon.
Fshaw Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Where are you going to. I am in Central and can help if needed.
Bclass1 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Walk the streets of Camden. Nobody will say anything about your herfing. Just be sure to bring a weapon. Lol, Camden...you mean crawl the streets. There's too many stray bullets flying around to walk..
poisonowns Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Lol, Camden...you mean crawl the streets. There's too many stray bullets flying around to walk.. I was there for a concert one time many years back and when I walked out my car was missing. A guy came up and asked if I lost my car. He asked if I'd pay him if he could find it, which I agreed. My car was parked 3 blocks from where I originally parked it. He took me directly to it.

Let me know and I'm sure I can be of some assistance Thanks that would be great . It looks like I will be somewhere in the 'Woodcliff Lake' area. Doesn't sound like I'm getting a rental either so anything within walking distance is a bonus; otherwise I'll have to work something out.

There's a place called the Porter House which I basically a bar/restaurant type place that you're allowed to smoke in. It's located in Montvale NJ, not far from Woodcliff lake at all, but definitely not walking distance. That's probably the closest one to that town..
poisonowns Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I'm kinda interested to hear the rest of this story... That's the end of the story. I believe the guy was part of a scam where someone moves cars and he helps them be "found" to make money. And afterwards I found 5 dollars.

TheLiquidGator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I have seen people smoking in the back of this store on TV http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satriale%27s_Pork_Store

It's not for sure yet but it is looking fairly likely. Would any fellow BOTLs/SOTLs know of any cigar friendly locations in the area while I am down there? Are there any cigar lounges? JR Cigar, it's my stomping ground. It has a bar with tv's , another room that you can sit down in and eat lunch or dinner, an area for relaxing and no eating or drinking, a huge walk in humidor, the largest in the United States, and a gift shop. Smoking allowed everywhere . If you move to NJ, look me up, I'll buy the first round.
stunod Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Only a day or 2, Porter House is the place, but is about 27-30 miles from Woodcliff Lake.
Bclass1 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Only a day or 2, Porter House is the place, but is about 27-30 miles from Woodcliff Lake. I don't know which Porter House you are referring to, but this is incorrect. The Porterhouse I'm speaking of is located approx 3-5 miles from Woodcliff Lake, and that's bergen county. It's in Montvale, the next town over.. Definitely no where near 30miles away. There's one in whiteplains Ny as well. That may be the one you're referring to, but it's a ways from Woodcliff lake. I second the JR as well as stunod said, but he's speaking of the JR Cigar in Whippany which is also a ways from Woodcliff lake. There is one located in Paramus Nj, which is only a few miles from WCL as well, but only has as seating area to lounge and smoke. There is no bar in Paramus. Goodluck..
MadMax Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 You don't even stop at red lights in Camden, the police will also tell you this!

I am in Jersey now probably until Friday. Drove by JR cigar on my down and hopefully I get a chance to stop in for a look. There is a Porter House about 4.7 miles from here. I am staying in the Hilton and noticed they have smoking rooms so maybe they have an indoor smoking area as well? At any rate I think I will hit Porter House either tonight or tomorrow. Can I bring my own cigars and buy a drink or do i have to buy whatever I want to smoke there?

You can bring your own but there's a cutting fee. I think is $10.

It's about 40 miles from where I live but I usually wind up going there. good place to hang, drink eat and smoke.. i bet our paths crossed at the bar..
mncz Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I popped by this place one or twice. It's a pretty decent spot. Anyone else local to it? Ashes'N'Embers. They've been doing their best to market the place and it seems to be doing alright. I'm curious to get back there and see how it's changed over the past year or so, since I've been out of state. I live only about 20 minutes away. http://www.yelp.com/biz/ashes-n-embers-somerville
