For me, any cigar should be good to smoke right now and not later . For the prices COHIBA gets, they should

smoke great now. That's all. Like all cigars, they are meant to be smoked today , and not in a few years . pod.gif

Although I agree with you it seems like a lot here would disagree with you.

Siglo VI are king of the hill in my book based on any age. I haven't found a cigar that combines taste and aroma as well for me. Like others have said, it's all a matter of taste. For my part I wish there wasn't a premium or that the premium was on another marques, then I could enjoy the Cohiba's and ask why everyone is spending so much on those overly expensive fill in the blank.

I have never sprung for a box of Cohiba,

as my experiences with occasional singles and petacas has left me underwhelmed,

though a few Siglo IV's - not all - were quite good.

That said, on Sunday I smoked a Siglo V tubo (my first) from a 3-pack bought in early '09.

It was easily one of my top ten smokes, ever.

Virtually perfect.

A 5x3 box is on it's way.

Cohiba has a place in my humidor, are they expensive as hell? Yes, do I like them? Yes.The 2012 POU CoRo`s have been fantastic, so I bought another box to age. Siglo VI also amazed me this year. So all even if I can get more for my money, I still buy Cohibas.

I have smoked a limited amount of Cohiba - only the CoRo and Sig VI. The fresh CoRo I have smoked I did not enjoy. I found them harsh, but they were from a friends humidor who keeps it at 70%, so I chalk part of that up to being too wet. The Cohiba I have enjoyed had age. 2008 CoRo and Sig VI have been amazing. The main difference I have found between the CoRo and other robustos is the smooth buttery aspect to the smoke. They are more refined than most of the other robustos I have smoked, but not necessarily better.

Conversely the 2008 Siglo VI's I have smoked were heaven. Smooth, buttery and grassy sweet smokes that do not have a contemporary in the Habanos line ( at least that I have smoked). I have bought a 2012 box to compare to the 2008's. I plan to work my way thru Cohiba to find a few that I really feel are worth the premium. Right now the Sig VI is one.

argument has been beaten to death here

you are not alone, however I am not with you

if you are a habanos lover and you have smoked the entire range of cigars over many years, then you will have smoked some outstanding cohibas in that span, period

they're not even my number but i can respect them
