Ken Gargett Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 the 'school' thread got me thinking. wondering if there is anyone else on the forum who lived at 'london house' at any stage. always amazing where past residents pop up. for those not familiar, a truly brilliant place for post grad students to live in london. spent a couple of years there late '80s and some of the best times of my life. they take students from all around the world - was once purely commonwealth but expanded. set up by churchill i believe, as a thank you to commonwealth nation post wwi. aside from a brilliant location - near russell square - they got all sorts of contributions which still exist. so permanent seats at lords, twickenham, wimbledon, a bx at the royal albert hall. and so on. anyone?
ARRV Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 '98-'99 Absolutely loved it. Still good friends with the guys I met there.
Dara Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 My brother was there in mid 90s. Popped round to have a look at it a few weekends ago and it's closed for refurbishment until late 2014.....obviously years of debauchery have taken their toll!
