Peacock Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Hello. I've lurked on this site and many other cuban cigar forums for years. I really never felt the need to get involved in the conversations, I mostly read, learn, laugh and enjoy. I have gleaned yards of information on this site and considered it a go to site to gather enough information to purchase a box of never before tried smokes. I decided to post this introduction due to product and great customer service I received after ordering my first box here. I ordered a box of Monte 4's (boring perhaps, but one of my fav's). This was a HQ offer I received via email, and I couldn't resist. I got the ordering details from the live chat, and Diana was delightful. I ordered the box and they showed up 12 days later. The box was wrapped in paper and then wrapped in bubble wrap, then placed in a generic mailing envelope. The envelope scared me a little, since it showed some wear and tear from it's 1/2 a world journey. However, the box and and cigars were unscathed. Upon inspection they looked good. Not great, but certainly acceptable. Couple of cracked feet, and one cigar had a hole in it? Never seen that before. Not quite as dark and oily as I have witnessed with past boxes, but had the same musty, wet barnyard smell I have come to love. This box is dated Nov. 2012, so these are some young fresh bucks. I buried them in my humi for 2 weeks and tried one. The rest will get a nice long nap. This is why I'm posting this. It was a random pick from the box, nothing special by appearance, but looked good. Nice cap, a little light with a small green dot on it. (I've seen that before). The other #4's I have in my humi are JUN 2009 so that is what I have to compare it to. I lit it up, and found this to be perhaps the best #4 I've ever tasted. What? These are supposed to be the most consistent cuban cigar in the world....how could this one, which was hand picked, be so much better at such a young age? Perhaps because it was hand picked. My hats off to the Czar. I'm impressed. I will be ordering some Trini Robo T's next. I can only hope that they compare to my #4 experience. Peacock

Peacock Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 Seattle is not a tobacco friendly place. Just TRY to light a Monte in court...they get really angry.
