Kruz Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 I just had my first San Cristobal and really enjoyed it. The one I just smoked was the El Principe. Are there any stand outs in the line you would recommend? The name doesn't come up often so I was interested in hearing peoples thoughts on San Cristobal. I enjoyed the change of pace of smoking a lighter cigar with really interesting flavours.
DrunkenMonkey Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 In many peoples' opinion you just smoked the best of the line. And I love the El Principe as well. But at my wedding we smoked the El Morro, and I loved it. But that's the only one of that size I've ever had, and I couldn't recommend on the strength of that, as it was the best day of my life, and I was likely smoking through rose-colored glasses.
Thrassos Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 The la punta is also great with a cup of tea in the morning when you wake up. 2004/2005 are great years to smoke now.
Hafner32 Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 I have a box of both the Principe from 2012 and the Mercaderes from 2007 which were a La Casa del Habano release and can still be found. Both are excellent when looking for a bit light, bit sweeter cigar. The Mercaderes is a fairly large cigar and is a bit one dimensional so if not it the mood for the flavor profile, it could get a bit boring. I enjoy them in the morning or late evening with a cup of coffee or 2 or a sweeter cocktail. I think the Principes are good just about any time of day.
