AlainZaramian Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I just returned a couple of days ago from sunny Varadero back to rainy Toronto, and I thought I'd share with you the contents of my cigar haul. It wasn't actually much of a haul since I was on a little bit of a budget (just over 40 sticks), but here it is! 6 Montecristo No. 2 15 Montecristo Petit Edmundo 6 H. Upmann Magnum 46 3 Cohiba Robustos 3 Cohiba Siglo VI 5 Bolivar Belicosos Finos 5 Partagas Serie D No. 4 My favourite out of all of these (and you may have gotten a sense of this from how many I picked up) is the Montecristo Petit Edmundo. I found it to be very creamy, smooth and sweet. I think this will be my go-to cigar, and it certainly won't break the bank! My humidor is now almost at full capacity, holding just over 90 cigars. I really wanted to try out the Juan Lopez Seleccion 4, since it's near the top of Rob's list, but none out of the six stores I visited had them. Aside from the ones I brought home, I was having about two a day at the Varadero resort. I've only be in T.O. for a couple of days now and I'm ready to go back!
Bartolomeo Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Very nice haul and selections! See any ERDM Infantes RE? As of yesterday, Havana Hilton was sold out of them Bart
kiwicrusaders Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Nice selection haven't tried all of them... But certainly love the Monte Petit Edmundos as well. Given similar tastes I can HiGHLY recommend the Saint Luis Rey Regios as well... Not to mention the H Upmann Petit Corona. How do u find the H. Upmann 46? I've tried the 50 and it was only 'ok'. Amazing how the ring gauge effects taste !
mazolaman Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Nice haul mate, and it will be nice to smoke a few with a sun tan!
cottierm Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Well done Alain! I am happy to see that your trip was a success. All the best, Michel
AlainZaramian Posted July 1, 2013 Author Posted July 1, 2013 kiwicrusaders: I'll certainly have to try out the Saint Luis Rey Regios. The H. Upmann Magnum 46 is excellent. But this is something I've been wondering too--why should the length/guage of a cigar so drastically affect the taste of a cigar? Are they not using the same tobacco? Michel: yes, my trip was fantastic. Perfect weather, cigars, and drinks can never go wrong!
