BonVivant Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 What do you think of cigars from the factory with the code LAR? Partagas E2s are good from that code - at least, from what I hear. El Presidente Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I have seen great. I have seen crap. If it is a bell curve it is skewed slightly to the righty (quality) but just. Partagas.
sengjc Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I thought HSA randomly generates factory codes? If not, wouldn't it make sense to purchase whatever box code is on the BHKs since they were all supposed to be made exclusively at El Laguito?

Yes, but good luck finding much else other than BHKs or a few other lines every now and then being rolled there.
AdC Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 i thought oga and mur are partagas respectively 2011, 2012
mk05 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I recall those price sheets said SUB and TAU were Partagas back in 2011, so I would just take them for what they are. "Receipts"...lol
PaulP Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I thought HSA randomly generates factory codes? I thought the same.
CanuckSARTech Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I thought HSA randomly generates factory codes? I thought the same. Yes, it's generally all randomized assignments. There's been no "codekey" or decipher since they switched things around in 2003 or 2004 or so. Unless someone on a factory tour has seen a particular code in a given factory, that's about the only way to be 100% sure. And, nothing's 100% in Cuba. Certain distributors might have a bit of inside info, but there's been no overall crack to how it's done by H S.A. Just random assignments, and no way to figure it out.
