mine from 09 have been really improving in flavor this year, in fact had one the other day that would be one of my best ever cigars

Meanwhile I had the chance to smoke a Saint Luis Rey Double Corona from JUL 12. The first puffs had been as great as expected, then the cigar became mild for some time. In the second half the aroma was fuller again. At the end I noticed a lot of nicotine. At the moment the cigar is not (yet) as exceptional as I remembered but it is of course still young.

The second quarter was quite mild.

I wonder if some age can make a cigar fuller?

Yes yes.gif

When I first began acquiring Habanas I know I ended up with a lot of fakes. Then I bought a box of SLR Churchills and from the wonderful honeyed and maple body and smoothness I knew these were the real thing. Also you have the advantage that a lot of counterfeiters out there don't seem to target Saint Luis Reys for faking. Good show!

SLRs are great cigars...best when aged. I find that I prefer the Churchill over the DC though. Fantastic smoke.
