nandos83 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 can any one tell me what the quality was like in 97? ive heard 98-00 were bad years for quality in cuba.. thinking about a box of sig iii's from 97 but needed some insight before i think about pulling the trigger
mk05 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 They're all terrible and you should leave them alone for other unsuspecting smokers...like me.
Habanos2000 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I don't think you could say everything from a particular year was either good or bad. And personally, I'd be more concerned about how they've been stored for all those years.
LGC Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Always a crap shoot... but no probs with my 97 boxes.
Mr.T Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I echo Brandon's comments, but the 97 ERDM Tainos I have are incredible smokes.
MrGinger Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 My 97's and 98's have been great. I tend to stay away from 99-01.
El Presidente Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 You will have a higher % of luck in purchasing 97 stock from private collectors who know and care for their cigars. 97 stock from a B&M store will more often than not be stock passed over prior for construction/quality issues. Same goes for 1998-2000. There are always exceptions.
