KB24 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 My family is taking a trip in April and are looking at the Villa la Estancia Nuevo Vallarta. It's an All-Inclusive which appeals to us because we have 8 kids under the age of 12 coming with our group. Anyone ever been here? Suggestions welcome but keep in mind we do have 8 children and an all inclusive might be ideal. -Patrick
Mojo Risin Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Hi Patick, Have been to PV a number of times and really like it. Check out reviews on Trip Advisor. This is a good way of getting a feel for a place. But take them with a grain. Most people who do online reviews either love it or hate it. Nuevo Vallarta is all pretty nice. It is a decent distance from the "old town", "romantic zone" area which we love. We are thinking about heading there late Jan early Feb.
DrinkSmokeGolf Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I would avoid Nuevo Vallarta - you're just too far away from everything. I stayed at Sunset Plaza in August and it was awesome for kids. I have two young kids myself. Really good food and big, beautiful rooms (with large decks for smoking stogies!) http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotel_Review-g150793-d1917232-Reviews-Sunset_Plaza_Beach_Resort_Spa-Puerto_Vallarta_Pacific_Coast.html
KB24 Posted November 23, 2012 Author Posted November 23, 2012 So what hotels have you stayed at Mojo? Any of them all-inclusive? -Patrick
Pilsner14 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Dreams PV. OUTSTANDING! And a 2 min cab ride to town. BOOK IT!
Kingballs Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 http://www.mayanpalace.com/resorts/nuevo-vallarta My favorite place with family no need to leave resort and plenty to do for all. But rent a car for the day with wife and drive to sayulita 1 hour drive and it is a sweet town. Check out Havana cigar house in down town PV at the end of the board walk.
Mojo Risin Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 We have stayed at the Villa Premiere adn did the all inclusive. If you stay in town you dont need all inclusive. There are many good restaurants I believe they have an age limit of 15. We have also rented a condo two different occasions. We have also stayed at the Westin a few year back. I think it has changed since then. I was looking at the Gran Velas for this year for something different. Gran Velas in Playa del carmen is a very nice hotel. We really enjoy PV because there is alot to do. Great restaurants, shopping. The weather is perfect in Dec & Jan.
sg1234 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 We did the all-inclusive package with Barcelo la Jolla Mismaloya in 2010. The food was mediocre, but the rooms, the view, and the pool were all great. It was about a 20-minute bus ride into town, so we ended up doing that almost every day we were there. Our favorite restaurant there BY FAR was the Agave Grill. It's right around the corner from the LCDH. Check it out. I think we ate there 3 or 4 times during our 1-week stay. The owner was super friendly and got to know us pretty well because we were there so much. Have fun and safe travels.
