Hey guys, so just picked up these two from my sister in law who was visiting the States.

need some advice from you scotch guru's though. at the end of this year im heading abroad for 2 yrs, and cant take these with me. if i crack them both open, and leave them for two years, will they still be ok when i get back? or should i only crack open one?

In my own experience, scotch will slowly oxidise when exposed to air. Most of the time I can taste its effects after a bottle has been open six months or more.

A simple remedy is to transfer the remaining contents to a smaller bottle up to the new bottle's neck, sealing the new bottle's cap with wax is an option you may wish to explore. I get miniature wine bottles (~180 to 200ml) and keep the empty bottles handy for such a purpose, just remember to put a label on the new bottle(s) when you do the transfer.

I think you have time to drink them both by the end of the year party.gif

Hey Lex,

Which of the two did you prefer, or were they just different? I would be interested to hear your review of these.

Thank you,

Curtiss
