Ken Gargett Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 apparently geoffrey boycott was recently introduced to the old rocker, alice cooper, and his wife. boycott promptly shakes the wife's hand and says how nice it was to meet her. i would have paid to be the proverbial fly on the wall when boyc's was told that alice was actually the bloke.
Colt45 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 When I read the thread title, I thought you were going on strike over something. Who is Geoffrey Boycott?
Munts Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Who is Geoffrey Boycott? A retired has-been English cricket player.
Ken Gargett Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 sorry, yes boycott is a long retired cricketer. was a very dour yorkshireman. considered a very selfish cricketer but he was an excellent batsman, if often interminably slow. now a commentator known for fairly blunt speaking. one of the charcters of th game.

Colt45 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 you mean left hand? isn't right hand you? tough day? What side is your wheel on? But it has been a tough day - some Goslings, Guigal CdR. And then there's Sven.......
Ken Gargett Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 What side is your wheel on? But it has been a tough day - some Goslings, Guigal CdR. And then there's Sven....... sven? i'm sure the two of you will be very happy. i was thinking road, rather than vehicle. i just guess it comes down to the soze of one's vision.
SuprHasan Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I think what he means is right hand drive, on the left side of the road.
mazolaman Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 sorry, yes boycott is a long retired cricketer. was a very dour yorkshireman. considered a very selfish cricketer but he was an excellent batsman, if often interminably slow. now a commentator known for fairly blunt speaking. one of the charcters of th game. Crickets' favourite miserablist Yorkshireman, delivering such lines as "Aa've seen more brains in a pork pie"..."my granny could've hit that with a shtick of rhubarb"..etc,All delivered in the voice of Wallace from Wallace and gromet fame. Now derided as too slow, I agree Ken, a great accumulating batsman, of a style missing in the bish bash modern game, sigh. Yeah that helps me lots - cheers, and god save the queen, my right hand driving friends Currently driving round Europe, with the Steering wheel on the wrong side, garnering looks of astonishment in the more out of the way places.... God bless her, and all who sail in her!!!!!
