apparently geoffrey boycott was recently introduced to the old rocker, alice cooper, and his wife. boycott promptly shakes the wife's hand and says how nice it was to meet her.

i would have paid to be the proverbial fly on the wall when boyc's was told that alice was actually the bloke.

sorry, yes boycott is a long retired cricketer. was a very dour yorkshireman. considered a very selfish cricketer but he was an excellent batsman, if often interminably slow. now a commentator known for fairly blunt speaking. one of the charcters of th game.

Crickets' favourite miserablist Yorkshireman, delivering such lines as "Aa've seen more brains in a pork pie"..."my granny could've hit that with a shtick of rhubarb"..etc,All delivered in the voice of Wallace from Wallace and gromet fame.

Now derided as too slow, I agree Ken, a great accumulating batsman, of a style missing in the bish bash modern game, sigh.

Yeah that helps me lots - cheers, and god save the queen, my right hand driving friends :lol3:

Currently driving round Europe, with the Steering wheel on the wrong side, garnering looks of astonishment in the more out of the way places....

God bless her, and all who sail in her!!!!!
