A comment by Hovy ( Mr J ) in a different thread about our pharmacy cigar meetings gave me the idea for the title.

These 2 pots of "Kesselgulasch" was prepared by Reiner for the regular pharmacy cigar meeting this Monday - it was glorious, but don't trust my memory ... :hungry:

----------

A very looong pharmacy cigar meeting - and, to agree with Mr J., a "limitless German debauchery" - that I will expose here ( Mr J., you are welcome to join the debauchery ) ... well, just mine of course, and it had to do with some very tasty Croatian Williams-pear Schnaps doing more than 50% "rpm" as we say around here .......

It all started very early afternoon for me and Reiner last Monday whereas we always start around 6:30 pm.

BUT : I had to pick up Reiner and all the tools, food, wood, meat, supplements, condiments, etc.

And then we parked my car, jumped into a new one and did a test drive with it as I'm in the process of buying a new set of wheels.

That set and done satisfactory, we arrived 3:30 pm at the pharmacy and Reiner set up the two "Kessel" ( Pots ) and lighted them while I lighted my cigar and had some coffee.

We were joined by Gottfried and Josef ( our stand-by cook ) and Andreas would drop by and check his pharmacy was not accidentally set on fire.

With the two pots fully stocked and cooking away nicely we had the first beers at 5 pm.

It all went downhill from there.

Not because of the most excellent Gutmann Weizenbier, truly a very tasty brew of which I had some 5 bottles if my memory - no, it didn't serve me well ..

It was because of that Croatian home-brewed Williams that Josef brought along in a simple wine bottle, a gift from one of his employees.

What a lovely and most tasty Schnaps !!

1989 Chateau Lynch-Bagues Grand Cru ?? Nice plonk.

1993 Sassicaia Tenuta San Guido ?? Yeah, drinkable.

But that Croat ... well, you get the drift by now.

I had a few small glasses to taste it before dinner and then just went to it big glass after dinner, it was my downfall.

Lovely, but too mucho strength and "rpm" - I would sleep like a rock and spend the next day suffering it nicely. Long time no happen.

As for the Gulasch - well, the most tender and tasty, spicy and savoury Gulasch this side of Budapest.

Great job, Reiner !!

We were all happy, well-fed and having a blast.

Even our wives were, Inge helping out and providing the hors-de-ouvre and Marled helping the pots stay alight.

Cigars were also quite fantastic, I remember ...., starting off with a H.Upmann Majestic from 07, went to a Culebra, enjoyed a VR Prominente from ?? and finished off with a Cohiba 2012, with some other sticks in-between.

Any-which-way - a most pleasant ANS and a perfect night's sleep afterwards.

Life is good.
