Very interesting article. Thanks for posting it. Proves again why Springsteen is "The Boss".

i doubt we'll see him for aq while. the last one - back in 2003 - had concerts in melbourne, sydney and two in brizzy. saw the opening which was melbourne. the day the states invaded iraq so he was in a fairly pissed off/serious mood but great concert. saw the first of the two in brizzy. amazing. played jungleland (aside from a few small concerts a few years earlier, first time in about 20 years - crowd went nuts. i had shivers for a month. next night, he replaced it with 'my hometown'. i know which i'd rather hear).

apparently, major problems with the stage and electrics and sound in sydney. lot of people very pissed off. not bruce's fault. it cost the promoter a bomb, i believe. he then turned round to bruce and said, well, perhaps we should share the losses, notwithstanding a contract to the contrary. bruce said no. not sure whether bruce ever got paid. think he might have been and the promoter copped the loss, as he should - you can imagine the bloke going to bruce and saying i made a heap of dosh, you have more than we agreed, if the reserve.

there was unpleasantness and threats. not sure of the chances of bruce returning.

As you see in the link he's apparently offered promoters a slot for March but his price has so far been deemed too high.

see the link. great news if it pans out but as i detailed, not hopeful.
