Jason55555 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Finally grad day has come and my Masters are done , after a early morning convocation I decided to grab a cigar that can celebrate this special occasion. I decided to pick up the cigar that opened my eyes to what it means to be a cigar enthusiast. That cigar was the Cohiba Siglo II, it was the first cigar that I had where I found complexity of flavours thought the various thirds. So I picked a Siglo out of my box and me and some fellow grads grab a cooler filled it with two 24’s of beer few bottles wine and food and went to the beach to relax for the weekend. First Third As soon as you light it up the richness of leather and tobacco flavour hit you the tobacco is sweet and great tasting. There’s a underlying sweetened in the smoke now this goes really great with the woody flavours. The amount of smoke coming from the Siglo II is great the draw is perfect and burn is burning a nice dark black ash. The Siglo is med to full right off the bat for me getting a little light headed then again it could be the beer and wine mix lol. Second Third The smoke now is creamy and oily in the mouth, now hints of honey and leather hit my pallet the honey flavour is what made me love this cigar as its appearance has not disappointed. Towards of the end of the second third I start to pick up some grassy notes / tobacco notes a taste which I never experienced before ....interesting. Final Third The final third it becomes a powerhouse strong coffee and spiciness come thru, the tobacco is still sweet I also get a taste in my mouth as if I was chewing a coffee bean. The smell is amazing and few of my friends with me that usually find cigar smoke to pungent even said that cigar your smoking smells intoxicating. Overall What can I say, I picked this cigar to celebrate this occasion and boy did it not disappoint. I’ve had as couple of Siglo II in my box that has been meh but this one was spot on. When I have cigars like this I remember why I got into cigar smoking in the first place the Cuban tobacco taste and smell of the Siglo II is what a Cuban cigar should be. I’m super bias with this cigar and rating it would be a perfect 100 in my book. ***I know ash is supposed to say a lot (who knows)and this ash on the Siglo was black as ash, but tasted great , so black ash good mineral soil or what just wanted to throw that out there see if anyone has any ideas. Thanks
nikesupremedunk Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Congrats!! I have siglo 2's coming in the mail from czar along w/ other PC's and I can't wait to try it. Also, what kind of camera are you using? Try to focus on the cigar and not the background.
Jason55555 Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 Thanks and LOL sorry using my old school Iphone cam hahaha its horrible **Get the new Samsung Galaxy Note soon so shouldn't have this prob anymore/ when you siglos come from czar try one fresh and then lock em up for a few month and try again, flavor changes 360 they become stronger more full flavored but the new young flavor gives you more sweet taste.

Jnaube Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Love everything Cohiba is producing. For the camera, just set off the autofocus and work with the manual mode. If you love the Siglo 2 have you ever tried some Trinidads?

If you love the Siglo 2 have you ever tried some Trinidads? Search reviews for the Reyes lol i'm all about the Trinidad's just this week had a Siglo II followed by a Reyes 2 totally diff flavors and strength but they both have that sweet tobacco, that you know was grown in the best Cuban soil. Haven't really attacked the other Trini's just because the price up here in Canada was a turn off , for a price of a Trini up here i'd rather pick up a Cohiba. **Got some HQ Cohiba Secretos coming in tomorrow that I got for last Live from Humidor session (hopeful comes tomorrow) i'll throw a review of that up here soon too.
