anyone who is a cricket fan should sign up to the guardian's email - the spin. link below. comes out every week or two and has some really good in-depth stuff, some odd stuff at times, but always an interesting read.

this latest focuses on cricket greats who never were, simply because they could not make the team of the day - stuart law a perfect example. as a qlder, i saw a heap of him and he would have been an integral part of every test team of any nation for the last few decades, except when he played, there was simply no spot for him. one test innings of 54 not out. and plenty of other ewxamples.

it is definitely worth signing up!
