isa Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I believe El Prez has HQ boxes of JL#1's lying about ;-) I'd contact him directly with your 'wish list'... Really? JL#1 are pretty strong flavoured & bodied, is that right?
Ophidion Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I'd say closer to medium-full in flavor. Medium in power

Ophidion Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 They taste like honey whole wheat bread. Which is to say they are fairly unique (which Is why I want to age a dozen or so)
phoenix Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Really? JL#1 are pretty strong flavoured & bodied, is that right? Historically, Juan Lopez were a mild but extremely complex cigar; however, somewhere around '05-'06 Habanos SA reportedly went in a different direction, embarking on what I've heard referred to as their 'ligero program', at which time the JL line became noticeably FULL bodied. The best example is that of the JL#2 which went from mild/complex to STRONG. It's been a while since I smoked a JL#2 from '05-'06 cause the ones I have just haven't mellowed out yet. Haven't tried newer production since, so maybe it's time to give them another chance. I haven't actually smoked any recent JL#1's either-- and aim to fix that shortly-- but I've heard from a few colleagues that they are now mild-medium in profile. Personally, I prefer the older, milder, more complex Juan Lopez.
