rp99pts Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 As a huge fan of Canadian blended whiskey, I was wondering if anyone especially my friends way north of me could recommend a really good Canadian Whiskey that can be purchased in the US thats not one of the mass marketed ones like Crown etc? Or if not available down here would be willing to send one my way if I obliviously paid for it, shipping and cigars for the effort..let me know... Chris

Michel1968 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 One of my whisky buddies, Davin de Kergommeaux (http://www.canadianwhisky.org/), will release his book on Canadian whisky on may 8th. Not sure this will help you obtaining bottles in the US but it will make you want to go north for sure!!
bolivr Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Oh great. I have explored the wine, beer, single malt scotch, bourbon and cognac and now I guess I will face more ruination from delving into the world of Canadian whisky. Best get started then!
maverickdrinker Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 wisers 18 was voted best cdn scotch whisky last year by whiskey magazine
ckearns Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Three must-trys are: 1) Wiser's Legacy - http://www.canadianwhisky.org/reviews/j-p-wisers-legacy-canadian-whisky-review.html 2) Forty Creek Barrel Select - http://www.canadianwhisky.org/reviews/forty-creek-barrel-select-40-alc-vol.html 3) Alberta Premium Ironically enough though, arguably the best Canadian whisky available today cannot be bought in Canada. Its called Whistle Pig 10 year old Straight Rye and its a special release to commemorate the revival of a Vermont distillery. http://www.canadianwhisky.org/reviews/whistlepig-10-year-old-straight-100-rye-whiskey.html http://www.klwines.com/detail.asp?sku=1059531 Shoot me a pm if you`d like to try these or others. I`ve been looking to get a bottle of Whistle Pig, so maybe we can work out a swap.
rp99pts Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 Hey guys thanks for the reply's...Whistlepig looks interesting and can be purchased locally.
