It was a beautiful day this Saturday so decided to have a BBQ and finish it off with a SLR Regio and a glass of Glenlivet 18 Year old.

The SLR Regio had really no smell but had a nice milk chcoclate wrapper. I took a sip of the Glenlivet 18 Year old before lighting up the SLR. The 18yr had a smell of honeycomb, burnt citrus, chocolate, smoke. The drink itself was very smooth and initially you get a hit of spice & cinnamon. Then you taste a lot of honeycomb, citrus, burnt caramel and oak. In the end the drink also had a long dry finish definitely pick this up.

First Third

Now onto the cigar the SLR Regio, pre-light draw was amazing the smell coming off this cigar alone it worth the price. Got a good Cuban draw with semi tight pull, In the very beginning you get hit with an abundance of Cuban earth & salty, then a mix of coffee, dark coco and a taste of well-aged sweet tobacco. I‘m hoping this amazing mix of flavours would last.

Second Third

Now the cigar has clam down the beginning of the second third is full of hay which I hate this goes on for a while :( but then it changes (thank god) and your hit with a pleasant shot of honey and sweetness mixed with tobacco.

Final Third

The finial is about the same as the second third but there is no more hay just sweet tobacco flavours, mixed with chocolate and strong dark black coffee.

Overall this cigar was super sweet a perfect evening cigar to end off a good meal this could even be classified as a desert cigar. The first third is the most enjoyable because of the complexity the burn as you can see in the pictures is perfect, the only down fall about this cigar was the hay flavour present for much of the second third. 89/100

Thanks :spotlight:

Great combo, great review

Long time since I lit a Regio, good to see they are as I remember them.

Thanks for the review. I'm going to have to try one of those; right up my alley (except, like you, not crazy about hay).

The body was quite smooth and silky the kick is still there just because its higher alcohol - 43% but overall the body was super smooth.
