77stoneblues Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Where's the love? I've had the odd Divinos and they were usually good to just okay. Wondering if there have been any good ones smoked recently? Good box codes? Anything HQ in the pipeline? Just curious, as I've been pinching my pennies for my first trip to Cuba (Saturday!) and these are on my short-smoke wish list. Thanks!
Rushman Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I've had one salamones and one diademas that were transcendent, and early in my CC career. I've smoked several cuabas since that never quite did it for me. Not in my rotation. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631728,-87.070645
77stoneblues Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 I'm doing the Varadero resort thing with my wife, with a day or two planned in Havana. I know there are much better short smokes to be had, but I like variety. Truth be told, my wife wants some because she likes the shape. She's not as picky about flavor as I am.
mazolaman Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 The divinos have improved in every respect in recent times. They had some bad construction issues, but recent boxes have had much better build quality. They still have the distinct peanut flavour that all Cuaba have, and that medium strength sweetness. In terms of what to buy in Cuba, for Cuaba, go for either Distinguidos, Salamones, or divinos....all are the best of the brand for me. Happy holidays mate.
ct4 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 If your going to be in Havana - go to the Romeo and Juilet shop and buy some Hamlet customs..also by some customs by Reinaldo at Conde Villanueva..they dont come much better than these too and will save the hassle of trying to decide which Cuaba to purchase.. go to El Aljibe - Restaurant in Havana...some of the worlds best chicken.. enjoy your trip..take some photos and post on your return.. cheers, ct
CaptainQuintero Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 x2 on the Salomones (expresso ride) and if you can get them the 2008 LE (peanut and raisin ride)
